Santa Maria Strawberry Festival!

It’s that time of year again when the Santa Maria Valley invites you to celebrate the bountiful harvest of our incredible local strawberry crops!  This weekend only, at the Santa Maria Fairpark, you can savor tasty, juicy strawberries in many delicious and creative ways, but my personal  favorite will always be a simple strawberry shortcake. Okay, I am not opposed to a chilled strawberry margarita on a particularly hot day, sliding down easily with some spicy Mexican cuisine…yum!  But for today and tomorrow, grab some friends and/or family and enjoy a stroll through the fair park!  Carnival rides for the children, go-cart races, cooking shows, a wildlife experience show, bands, and always, lots of sweet strawberries!  Open 11:00 am to 10:00 pm, although the carnival remains open until midnight for those older “young at heart” folks!  (Click here for a link to the website.)
